April, 2012
UAC and COMAC have signed Memorandum of Understanding and started the joint activities whereunder related to substantiation of LRWBCA Program viability.
May, 2014
UAC and COMAC have signed Memorandum on Cooperation within LRWBCA Program.
June, 2016
Government of Russia and Government of China have signed Cooperation Agreement, the purpose whereof is joint implementation of the Program for development, production, sales and aftersales of long-range wide-body aircraft and family of aircraft developed on its basis. This milestone can be considered as a formal launch of Chinese and Russian cooperation in the sphere of joint aircraft development.

CRAIC (China-Russia Commercial Aircraft International Corp. Ltd.), UAC and COMAC joint venture, has been registered in Shanghai. The JV performs the function of CR929 Program operator. The areas of JV’s responsibilities include production, sale, aftersales support, marketing, business planning and program management.
September, 2017
Christening of aircraft in Shanghai: new generation long-range wide-body aircraft now has a name – CR929, the livery also has been presented. Letters C and R stand for participants of the project: С – China, R – Russia. CR are also the first two letters of joint Chinese-Russian venture.
June, 2018
General configuration of CR929 has been defined. UAC and COMAC have reached an agreement on main geometric characteristics of the aircraft: wing span and its form, fuselage length, forward and rear fuselage parts, size and form of the empennage, location of engines, landing gears and doors.
