Mikhail A. Pogosyan was appointed UAC President in February 2011. Since April 2007 he was UAC First Vice-President on Programs Management. He is also a member of UAC Board of Directors and Chairman of UAC Executive Board.
Mr. Pogosyan was General Director of JSC “Aviation Holding Company “Sukhoi” since 1998 till 2011. Until 2007 Mr. Pogosyan was also General Director of JSC “Sukhoi Design Bureau”. In 2009-2011 Mikhail Pogosyan held the position of General Director-General Designer of Russian Aircraft Corporation "MiG".
Born in 1959, M. Pogosyan started his career in SCOT “Sukhoi Design Bureau” in 1979, where he held a number of posts, starting as an Engineer and becoming First Deputy General Designer in 1998.
Mr. Pogosyan graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) as an engineer-mechanic, later he became a Doctor of Technical Science and an Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences (Division of Energetics, Machinery, Mechanics and Control Systems of RAS).
M. Pogosyan was honored with RF Government Certificate of Merit award by the RF Ministry of Industry and Energy, RF Government Order of Honour and Medal “850 years of Moscow foundation”. He is also a Laureate of RF Government and State Prize.
Mr. Pogosyan is married and has two children. |
