Alexey Fedorov became UAC President in November 2006, when the Company was incorporated. He is also a member of UAC’s Board of Directors and Chairman of UAC’s Executive Board.
Prior to heading UAC, Mr. Fedorov was General Director and General Designer of FSUE "Russian Aircraft Corporation "MiG", where he held his position since 2004.
Born in April 1952, Mr. Fedorov graduated from Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute in 1974 as a mechanical engineer in aircraft building. Same year he started his professional biography at “Irkutsk Aviation Industrial Association” (IAPO), where he worked as a design engineer until 1989. In 1989 he was appointed Chief Engineer, and afterwards IAPO’s General Director.
During that time he graduated from Business-school of Oklahoma-City University (Oklahoma, USA)(1989).
Alexey Fedorov headed IAPO (since 1989 JSC IAPO, currently JSC “Irkut Corporation”) until 2004 (1998-2004 as President), with a short break in 1997-1998, when he served in FSUE “AVPK “Sukhoi” (currently JSC “Sukhoi Company”) as General Designer.
Alexey Fedorov was a member and Chairman of Irkut Corporation`s Board of Directors from 1998 to 2007. Since 2005 he also headed the Boards of Directors of Beriev Design Bureau and Yakovlev Design Bureau. In 2005 A. Fedorov also became a member of NAZ SOKOL’s Board of Directors.
Currently, Mr. Fedorov is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the following companies: JSC “Aviation Holding Company “Sukhoi”, JSC “Scientific and Production Corporation “IRKUT”, JSC “Ilyushin Interstate Aircraft-Building Company”, JSC “Ilyushin Finance Ko.”, JSC “Tupolev”, JSC “Finance Leasing Company”, JSC “Nizhny Novgorod Aircraft-Building Plant “Sokol”.
Alexey Fedorov’s contribution to the development of the Russian Aviation Industry was marked by a number of RF Government Awards: IV Class Order of Merit for the Fatherland, RF Government Order of Honor, Peter the Great Award. Mr. Fedorov is married and has two children.
